How long have you been divorced? I would put money on them DF'ing you if you confessed to adultery, despite their assurances otherwise. It's kind of you to consider giving your ex wife the freedom to remarry, but you should also consider the cost to yourself if you did get DFed over it.

Your advice please on "Scriptual Divorce"
by karter inmy ex and i have a legal divorce.. she asked me to write a letter to the b.o.e so she can get a scriptual divorce.. she said she had spoken to the c.o.b.e ans they would take no action against me as i haven't been to a meeting in about 12 years.. my reply "ok get him to put that in writing".
so do you think they will put that in writing?.
and would they take action if i did write the letter giveing her a scriptual divorce?.

I've hated the sound of her voice from the minute I heard her remake of Dolly Parton's song. I know it's irrational - every time I heard her voice I'd wish she'd be permanently banned from the airwaves. But it's a pity that she died.

tornapart - I envy you being able to get out together FA and JR :)
We came really close to breaking up once. To his credit, Just Ron stuffed his feelings down and kept going to meetings and in service because at the time it was what I wanted and believed. I am so very grateful that he didn't force me to choose between him and the borg at that time, because I probably would have made the wrong choice. I was really deluded back then.

Were you a born-in or became one as an adult? - I read the magazines as a child, but did not study or attend meetings until I was an adult. I don't identify as a born in, but I was exposed to the virus as a young child.
How long were you in for? I started studying in early 1999 when I was pregnant with my first child. I quit attending in November 2011.
What made you realise it was all wrong? I remember very clearly sitting in a circuit assembly and "I don't want to be here" just popped into my head. I don't remember for sure what year that was, but I think it was probably 2004. However, I didn't realize that it wasn't the "Truth" at that point - I just realized I didn't want to be in the organization. I pushed that thought down as hard as I could and tried to make it work, but I ended up inactive after my youngest was born in 2007. I just couldn't deal with field service with a baby, but I still went to all the meetings and social gatherings. I didn't really figure out the truth about the "Truth" until I found this place in December 2011.
Have you stayed in because of family? I stayed in from that moment of clarity in 2004 until November 2011 because Just Ron was in, and all my "friends" were in. I was too scared of losing my family and social life to be honest about my feelings. When things finally came to a head because of the way the elders acted at our last shepherding call, Just Ron asked me if I even wanted to be a witness anymore. I decided to risk a little honesty and said no, and he admitted the same thing.
Are you fading or have you completely gone? I guess I was fading a bit over the months leading up to that last fateful shepherding call. I was looking for any excuse to miss a meeting. By late September and October 2011, I was missing more meetings than I was attending. I haven't been to a meeting at all since early November and I don't intend to ever darken the door of a Kingdom Hall again.

I was so "happy" when I was a JW that I had to take 2 antidepressants just to function. Oddly, when I quit taking the meds due to the side effects, I started to realize something was rotten in the organization and I ended up inactive. Now I'm totally out, and I'm happier than I've ever been

You may be a jw if.....
by just Ron inyou may be a jw ........if you spent last saturday traped in a car with at least 4 other people you may be a jw.. if you have sat through a sheparding call where you were told you are unworthy you may be a jw.. if you have alienated your worldly relatives with your preaching you may be a jw.. if you have ticked some one of buy knocking on their door on one of their religous holidays you may be a jw.. if you think the governing body is goods direct channel you may be a jw.. if you have no clue when this system is going to end you may be a jw.. .

Star Trek - the Borg
by finally awake init just occurred to me that we use the term "borg" when talking about the organization.
it's a cute play on words, but i wonder if the writers of star trek who came up with the idea of the borg had some experience or connection with witnesses.

If you don't give a s**t about celebrating, feel free to post here.
by VampireDCLXV ini'll just come out and say it... i don't give a f**k about my birthday.
it's only a painful reminder that i'm one year closer to my grave.
i'm not here to pick a fight with those who do celebrate.

I don't personally care at all about the holidays or my birthday. My kids are the only reason that I plan on doing anything for the various holidays. My youngest seems especially interested in having Christmas and Halloween. We started celebrating their birthdays this year, and they really seemed to enjoy that. I do like to buy up all the discounted candy after Valentines Day.

Goodbye, everyone.
by Chemical Emotions insome of you were really nice.
some of you were really mean to me, and at this point in my life i can't handle such meanness.
i thought this would be my one place to truly express my feelings without too much mocking or insults from people who i thought were nicer, but i was wrong.

Special Projects Committee List
by C.O.B.E.Beef inhas anyone seen anything in writing explaining the role of the special projects committee?
several months ago our circuit overseer explained it to me, and i had not heard of it prior to that.
from what i remember, each circuit overseer compiles a list of 10-15 key elders in the circuit to be available to assist him in handling complex matters in their region, issues involving child abuse, homosexuality, financial matters and appeals committees.just wondering if anyone else has any info, or is on the list for that matter..
